On August 7, 2018 seniors from Social Justice Humanitas Academy have already started their last year of high school. Many are feeling anxious for what’s to come and some are trying to finish senior year strong. I was able to interview Sebastian Martinez, a senior from Social Justice Humanitas and he was willing to answer my questions. I first asked, “What grades are you expecting for your senior year, and are you going to finish strong or keep it minimal?” He responded by saying, “I expect good grades because this is going to be my last year of high school. I’m taking harder classes this year but I still expect myself to continue getting good grades.”

The next question asked was,“What are your plans after high school, and do you worry about what’s to come after high school?” Sebastian replied, “I’m thinking about joining some kind of branch from the military or at least go to school overseas. I just want to worry about myself but I do worry about life after high school because you don’t know what’ll happen, only time can tell.”

Last but not least I asked, “What do your parents expect from you now that your a senior?” A quick response, “They expect me to put my “all” because this is my last year and it’s just as important as the the previous years. They understand college is right around the corner and they want me to have my priorities on my education.”

Sebastian, like other seniors, might have high expectations for their last year and might know what they’ll do after high school. Others are clueless and don’t have any ideas or don’t know which career path they want to take. Let’s just hope for the best for our 2019 seniors because they need it.
